I just watched Walk the Line, it was really good anyone else like it? |
| |
| I've always been a Johnny Cash fan, but this is the first time I had a chance to actually watch Walk the Line. I thought it was great. I know it's been out for awhile, but I hadn't had a chance to actually sit down and watch it until last night. Although the guy who played him looked nothing like him, but the more I watched it the more he seemed to look like Johnny Cash. Anyone else think so? Or is it just me? | | | | | |

| | I didnt like it for the fact that it was a country music movie. I really don't like country music. The guy looks ugly. Thats all I'm going to say. | | | | | | |

| | I watched the movie a few months back when I was off, and I liked the movie myself. I guess I like watching to see how folks lives go and all, and i was curious as to how this movie was treated now that both Johnny and his wife June have passed on back in 2003; No,he didn't look like him, but I think he got the way he was, his essence if you may say so. I felt a bit ticked when this woman walked up to June Carter's character and commented on her divorce saying she was wrong and how positive she took the comment, though I know how that could feel myself divorced as well. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah, I agree I think she took it too nicely she should have stood up for herself a bit more. Back then divorce wasn't as common it seems. You don't have to agree with everything everyone does, but you don't have the right to be judgemental, because no one is perfect. I kind of wanted to smack the woman lol. | | | |

| | I just watched it a couple of months ago and I too thought it was great. Not exactly true to life but a good movie. I, too have always liked his songs. | | | | | | |

| | No, it's not true to life, but I really think they got the point across. I've alway lved Johnny and I was already a fan of Joaquin, but I was really worried he wouldn't be able to pull it off. I think he proved me wrong. He was great. | | | |

| | I liked it too. I'd read his autobiography some months before ('Johnny Cash' co-written with Patrick Carr), which is *really* interesting by the way. Much of the film is probably pure fiction (though the reality would've made an even better film!), still it works in the film's universe. Actually, my main quibble with the film is that it should have more music! They are probably not planning a follow up - but Cash's life had some more interesting moments later. He was almost killed by an ostrich for one thing. :-O and in principle I'd wish some of these biographical music films didn't stop just after they reach a summit in their careers like e.g. this one, the one on Ray Charles and Scorceese's Dylan film etc... If *I* had written the script I'd probably based it on the Thanksgiving in Jamaica when the Cash-Carter clan were held at gunpoint for a whole night by three intruding robbers who threatened to kill them all - that would've made a fine pretext for Cash to go over his life in lots of flashbacks and then returning for the conclusion of drama towards the end! :) | | | | | | |

| | Yeah, I pretty much figured that it wasn't based on much truth. If you know who Cole Porter they made a movie about him starring Cary Grant that had barely any truth in it. Most films are like that, but yeah that does sound like it would be interesting. It's a very good idea. | | | |

| | I enjoyed the movie as well. I live in Hendersonville, TN and I have fished behind the Cash house several times. The house in the movie was actually filmed in California (where I was born) but it sure looks like this one did before it burned. I have some great pictures I took before and after the fire. God Bless and Thanks! | | | | | | |
