For the first time, Kobe Bryant is now a member of the US national basketball team. And they are playing right now at the FIBA Americas championship. Among his teammates were Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony, who were also members of Team USA last year where they settled for third place.
Is Kobe the missing link for the team? Can he lead the team all the way to the 2008 gold medal?
What is your opinion?

Yes, he is definitely an essential player of the team who can lead them to olympics gold. The addition of other vets like kidd will also help greatly. they bring experience, something lebron, and carmelo are missing. At the FIBA championships, we got to see the new US team, and they looked like an unstoppable team. Kobe might be an essential part of the team, and was a great leader during the championships, but I think even without them, the US team will still be able to take the gold at the olympics.

Cdcale, I agree with you when you said that Kobe together with Kidd will bring along experience to Team USA.
Why do you think Team USA will still be able to take home the Olympic gold medal even without Kobe and Kidd?
By the way, thank you for responding.
