When my grandkids complain about the music my husband and I like to listen to in the car I always tell them that many of the singers and bands we listened to when we were young are STILL making beautiful music and that none of today's big musical stars will even be remotely remembered 20 years or more from now. So, come on young myLotters, who do you think will be YOUR Eagles, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, Rolling Stones, Sting...the list goes on and on. And fellow oldies but goodies, who have I left out?

You are very correct. The musicians and music of yesteryears are real great. The present day music has no rhythem or rye and people consider every new music as something new and extra ordinary as it is not at all soul stirring. This is happening not only in English music, but in our language music also. I love to listen to the music of 1940's to 1990's.

I sure agree! My mom and dad used to always talk about the "Big Band Era" when I was young, and my older brother always liked the old standards from the 40's and jazz. I didn't appreciate those genres until I got more mature but now I love them all! Yes, you got the years right in my opinion too! I don't know WHAT has happened in the "00's"! The music sure has be a big double zero too!
