I feel, 'Honesty" begets 'Trust" and "Trust" confirms and cements any relationship. My experience tells that more than love we should have trustworthiness and honesty in relationships. When we have a peaceful, loving life we are bound to be cheerful and ppl will respect us for this. Assuming that you are honest by deed, I get that you are an honest, trustworthy and lovable person. Thanks for being a friend.

Hi ssh123! I agree with you that honesty is one the most valuable tools in order to earn respect. I believe so much that respect can never be dictated upon or ordered to be given just like that, it must be earned. I believe that in order to gain respect, we should first respect and love ourselves. We should treat others the way we want ourselves to be treated, whether that person is a beggar or a wealthy one. Take care and have a nice day!

Yes, I agree with you that honesty is the prerequisite for a successful person. If I am not honest in my approach, I cannot succeed anywhere. Honesty certainly helps you a lot and it definitely pay rewards in the long run.

If I am not honest I cannot be anyone's friend not even mine. You have to be honest with yourself before you can be honest with people. So yes I beleive hat honesty is the best policy to libe by. People will love and respect you for that even if they dont like you too much.

Hi Sadaananda, Well I suppoes I should be honest as well in order to live a happy life. But here in my job, I couldn't be houest sometimes, say, I couldn't show my hands out to my plants all the time, otherwise, they will take advantage of the truth I tell, and it would be also dangerous if I keep telling the truth to customers for the actual WIP of our product PCB. So we are telling some lies to customers for the plants in orders to reduce the noises from customers. And in real life, I deem we should also tell some white lies as well, since although it might be good to tell the truth to the friends, people afterall likes to hear some praises, or say, good words.

Respect is always two way - so if you want to be respected, then you must first learn to respect others. Yes honesty is good, but its not enough to get respected. It is one of the things that leads to respect in society. There are many more things that will ensure you are respected by others. Some of them would be - 1. Your behavior. 2. Your style of talking with people. 3. Your reactions to others. 4. Your Attitude. 5. Your Respect for others, etc

I totally agree with you. Honesty is the first thing to deserve respect and a well natured man can be trusted only when he is honest. Honest people never fail, dishonest may win for a short period but the honest one plays in long run and the respect shows the path to success, it is just another but relevant part of being an honest person.
