does your eskimo have a skin condition or allergies? mine is allergic to fleas if he gets just one forget it! I have to go to the vet and get the advantix type of flea controll. also every summer around september he pulls his fur out mostly on his tail. Is this a condition that is normal for the breed?

I'm not sure... but my schnauzer does the same thing! He's got a nekkid backside by Sept. Even the flea controls don't help--- we bathe him in Dawn and use Beaudreau's butt paste on the raw spots... works well! WHEN we catch him, that is!!

Ours are all house dogs (and bed dogs) and for him, I don't think its fleas... or one of US would have a bite! I think its probably just heat, but I hate to see him that way! We get him trimmed down every few weeks during the summer, too... he's gone thru this for 12 summers, poor guy!

My American Eskimo has skin allergies too. He was itching so bad he had raw spots. I finally took him to the vet and he got a shot. He's doing better. The doctor said he would have trouble until after we have our first frost.
