How sad was Ladder 49? I just watched it for the first time...

I don't normally get much time to sit down and watch a movie but the other night I got into bed and Ladder 49 was starting and I watched the entire movie and cried my eyes out at the end. I don't know which was sadder the fact that he knew he was going to die in the end in that burning building or that John Travolta had to pull out his men knowing he was alive in that building. My eyes are filling up just thinking about it. My brother in law is a fireman and the movie just hits too close to home.

I saw this at the theatre around the same time Friday Night Lights came out...good grief it was two depressing movies in a row. Ladder 49 wasn't all that great a flick for me though entertainment-wise.

Yes I seen the movie! I had to run out and buy it when it came out in stores..I cry everytime I have seen it:( I know alot of my friends that work in the fire department and it makes me worry about them even more after watching that movie...I couldn't imagine what either one of them went through to make that kind of decission(sp?)I would never want to be in anyones shoes that has to decide that..
