OMG...this is one of those RARE movies that actually brought me to tears!! If any of you saw Dangerous Minds with Michelle Pfeiffer then I imagine you'll really enjoy this movie....Here is the write up (from Netflix) of it for those of you who dont knwo what its about
"Hilary Swank stars as a young teacher who inspires her at-risk students in this moving drama based on true events. Erin Gruwell (Swank) assigns her class an ambitious project: While studying works such as The Diary of Anne Frank, the kids keep journals about their troubled lives, applying history's lessons to break the cycle of violence and despair that threatens their futures"
If you HAVENT seen it...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT...for those of you who HAVE seen it...what did you think of it?

This is an excellent movie and I highly recommend it also. Hilary Swank is so convincing playing the teacher that anyone in her classroom would want to do their best and attend class each day. Be sure and watch the extras, as they were excellent also.

Yea we just finished watching some of the extras a short bit ago and you are right they are equally as excellent! I had to call my gf back home and tell her that she needs to see it...LOL when I told her I cried three times she was like "omg it MUST be good" (i'm a bit of a harda$$ LOL)

Have not seen it yet, not on my "must see" list per-say. I guess it is on my Blockbuster rental que list though, maybe I'll move it up and see it quicker.

Wow thanks again for another wonderful suggestion. I am answering this from email cause I don't want anyone to spoil it for me. We are going for some movie rentals this weekend and this sounds like the one for me. So thanks once again for a wonderful suggestion! :o)

I haven't seen that one yet but I will definitely keep an eye out for it the next time we rent movies. I do enjoy movies with the premise of someone doing their part to make the world a better place in which to live. Thanks for pointing this on out.

We rented Freedom writers a few months back. It was a great movie. I have seen dangerous minds twice an equally wonderful movie. It just proves you can rise above anything if given the chance. What our schools need are more caring teachers that want to see kids make it in life, and will go the extra miles to help them.
