Well, I have to admit it - I am a total adict to sun glasses - shades. And am unable to get out of the door without any of these on my nose, no matter at all if the sky is blue and sun is shining, or that the sky is clouded and gray, or in the evening. And I don't care what people think when they don't see the reason for me to have these on, like deep in the night. Am I the only weirdo here with this tick?

Well I'm not sure addicted is the right word for me, but I do wear my sunglasses outside pretty much all the time, Summer and Winter. A few years ago now I had surgery on my right eye, and because of the scarring that remains on the lenses of my eye, they do not deal with sunlight and bright lights very well. So the Surgeons told me to wear dark tinted glasses all the time to avoid pain hrom too much bright light getting into my eyes. For that reason, I rarely have the lights at home either - I prefer natural light and never have even a lamp on to watch TV or work on the PC. So you are not alone!!

Ok Rosie, you cannot be called "addicted" but you definitely are "necessitated" :) due to the surgery you had. I feel partly necessitated too because I am having tremendous headaches from bright light, and they don't know how it comes and why, as my eyes are ok. But I stopped believing the words of medics long time ago, as they know far too little to be of real help to us ;)

Am I considered an addict to wearing shades? I wear glasses where the lens automatically change color under the sun. The higher the intensity, the darker the shade. However, when it comes to night time, the lens become clear again. However, I would think it is not advisable to wear shades when it is not bright. The eyes might not be able to adjust once you are off the shades.

hehehe, no, not really Whyaskq, unless of course you like to call it this way :) I have even had days that I put my shades on behind the desk when the sun is shining in my room :) And if I am out at night and there the bright lights from cars and such it provokes headache so I keep wearing them in the night time when on the street.

I love sunglasses. I wear mine all the time....you can get cataracts from too much sun....its gives me headaches to have bright lights in my eyes all the time....and I already have floaters so I dont need cataracts...I rarely ever take my glasses off, I have people say, why do you always wear your glasses, squiinting causes wrinkles, thas another reason....and then sometimes...I just dont want people looking into my eyes and I dont want to look into theirs lol....your not the only one/

Great Eaforemans6, thanks for jumping in and responding with all the reasons that I have for using them ;) + there are more like me and you, and I must add, when I leave the door to go to the supermarket just around the corner - and I dont want to bother putting make up on, I put my shades on, and a bit of lip stick and I am gone :) It is a different story though if I am to stay away from home, than I have to put my make up on, and than my shades, since I never know if i wouldn't like to take these off somewhere ;)

I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I've worn them at night and during the day before. It depends on where I am, what I'm doing and how I'm feeling. In addition to the light quality, of course. Sometimes I carry them at night just to use as a headband if I need them.

Hi Wiccania, sounds as a great answer to me, and thank you for responding :) And I have never lost the glasses when I wore these as a headband, but got to be careful if you've spent a lot on buying these :)
