Is Firewall Need Or Its just a fashion????

hello angle007, what i think of firewalls is that yes they are needed when you are accessing internet.they infact provide a granular level of control over the addresses and ports of your network and how they are made available to the internet. basically a firewall divides your network into three zones:a private zone that is not visible to the internet,public zone visible to internet ans a trusted zone that sits between the two. when you connect your private network to internet,it connects to over 50,000 unknown networks and its users.so they open the doors to information sharing.but most private networks contain certain information that shouldn't be shared.besides not all internet users are involved in lawful activities.these include password attacks,ip snoofing,network packets sniffers,man-in-the-middle-attacks etc. so inorder to protect your network and its resources from malicious users and accidents and hackers, a firewall is needed.its not just for fashion,its for security of your computer.and its completely safe to use.the best one is zonealarm and comodo firewalls.
