Aren't dogs selective sometimes?

yes they only respond to people who are closest to them... like my dogs... they always go berserk when we get home to show how they miss us but they never even greet my parents... like they're not even there! my sister and i are the dog lovers in our household but my mom has a phobia with dogs coz she was bitten when she was younger... my little bichon who was very loving of doganality did not like my father to come near her... my father the gentlest of souls would say her name and she would growl and stand at guard... she would not even take a treat from him.

her mother dog whom we also own and her sister which my parents adopted both loved my father with much gusto.

I agree with you, my dog only obeys me and follows me wherever I go.They are like humans sometimes, they can feel our emotions and responds to our feelings. After all Dogs are mens best friend!!!

Hello Princes, I dont think the dogs are like human in all cases.In some cases they are better than human.Dogs are more thankful to their masters than the men.
Dogs are more bright than the other animals.As you said I think they can understand whom they have to care.Thanks

i have a pekingese and he is my protector, he lays in front of the bedroom door when I take a nap or go to bed at night, if some comes near me he get in between me and them, if someone raises their hand and he thinks they are going to hit me he will jump on them, my hubby taught him when he was real little he would hit me on the arm and tell me to yell and it didn't take him long to understand someone was hurting me, and that is good because you never know in this world what will happen, although now he don't want hubby in the bedroom he has to fight to get in there, but the other day I was playing with him and my hubby said he had hurt his leg when I brought him in, and I must of got on it and he raised up before I knew it and bit me hard on the nose, he put 4 big scratches with is teeth on the end of my nose, now it is red and swelled up, I don't believe he done it our of being mean, only that I was on his sore leg. His name is Gomez and he is the ruler of the house, we got a cat and boy he didn't like that, he don't allow his to invade his space.
