Whats wrong with my discussions???

I was starting to take things personally!! lol I do realize there are many people here, but I really am shocked at how many responses are posted to some of the silliest discussions. I feel like I should ask what pant leg do you put on first and I would get so many I couldnt read them all! Im going to check yours too and add you as my friend, I hope! :)

No problem! I love to meet new people, that's why I'm here. It's really nice too having friends who are newer users, because then I can help them get started some by replying to their discussions. I know when I first started back in January I felt the same way for a while, that no one must have found my discussions interesting or I must not have been doing well, but now that I have a lot of friends and interests, I've found that I almost always have successful discussions. =)

I really dont want to compete, I just want to be involved!! lol But I understand what your saying here. I get nervous when Im going to hit the start discussion button....I think is this one going to flop! I try to be a little debatable, and at the same time have sum fun with it. I would like to have serious discussions with real life serious issues from time to time. I did think that the friends thing might have a lot to do with it, cos like you said its hard to keep track of certain discussions around here and your friends will get notified of when you start a new one and vice versa. Ok, lets work on my friends list! :)

Thank you AmbiePam.....I guess I was just jumping the gun a bit. I do strive to excell in most things I do! Im working on my friends list. I have gotten more requests than I have had approved, so I guess the ones that havent approved me yet probably wont. Oh well. I do want to just have sum fun, vent a little and see if the rest of the world feels like I do and that Im not just losing my mind at times!

I almost dont like to pick a best response, I dont want to hurt anyones feelings! I do rate a + to everyone that replies to my discussion though, just for the simple fact that they took the time to read it and reply.

Wait a couple of weeks before you give a best response, a lot of these water closet ninnies won't respond if they see a best respose has already been given.

That's not really true. Because the best response doesn't give extra points or money, there would be no reason to not answer it. Some people give it after a couple days, or some wait a couple weeks like I do. Although, I have given it early before. One time I did a topic and got so many answers that I thought, OK, if I give a best response, they'll stop leaving responses (I had just started mylot). Oh, but they didn't! The responses kept coming and that was one discussion I wished giving the best response would have stopped more replies. LOL

I have read a large number of comments by people saying that when they see a best response has already been given they won't leave a comment.

So is this just your theory on how waffles came about or is this something that you read somewhere?? lol

I myself like waffles more than I do pancakes. The syrup which is the best part just sort of slides off the pancake and forms a pool around them, the waffle however will hold your syrup in nice little pockets and then absorb it making it a sticky ooey gooey mess that tastes delish!

I dont think I have heard of Eli Roth, Elie Whitney maybe but not Eli Roth....off to the Google search box!

Eli Roth makes horror movies (see imdb.com for Hostel)and he did a mock trailer for a movie called "Thanksgiving" that ran with the movie Grindhouse last spring. The trailer was so gory I was more than thrilled by the fact that it wasn't a real movie. The premise behind it is that practically every other holiday including Christmas has its own horror flick but Thanksgiving had been left in the dust.

For the record, the info on waffles came out of my demented head and is purely fictional.

Oh yea, Cabin Fever.....Im not a big movie buff or follower, and even then so Im not a big blood and gore fan either. But now I do know who he is!

Well thank you Sid! I guess I really didnt take into consideration that perhaps the people that would find my discussions intersting were not logging on. I hope they dont get burried too deep! I find myself starting with the discussions that have no responses first, then if I dont find anything interesting there I will go to my friends discussions then to the hot topics.

Nothing wrong with getting a feel for the place by only responding to discussions. I think myself I try to hard to come up with things instead of allowing them to just unfold.
