Do You Preview Before You Post? |
|
A comment or new discussion? I never did, but I noticed that when I added a picture, it wouldn't always come up in the right discussion or comment, so I have started previewing before I post, and it also gives me a chance to edit any mistakes and see the layout=D What do you do and why? Malyck. *presses 'preview discussion'*

1. ZaffireWolf (361) | 1 year ago | I don't preview before I post, because I can see what I'm typing in this text box right here as I'm typing it. Therefore, there's no need to preview the response. The real problem is that once you post, you can't edit your post. It's really negligent that such a standard feature would be overlooked.

Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | That's actually a great point, we shouldn't need to preview it as we can see what we're typing, but it would be fantastic if we could edit post-posting=P I usually don't make spelling errors, and I have a spell-check just in case, but I sometimes find that I write in an incorrect word, and I overlook it, which can be slightly irritating at times. They should definitely aim to make an update which allows editing. Thanks for contributing

2. SDTermite (227) | 1 year ago | I never preview something before I post it. I will usually go back and reread what I wrote just to make sure that I don't have any spelling errors and that what I wrote actually makes sense. Sometimes I'll still miss a spelling on something and wish that I would have previewed it, but alas, I still never hit that button.

Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | I always seem to make some sort of mistake or end up unhappy with what I've written and have to write a response to my own comment to clarify=P

3. artemis432 (1899) | 1 year ago | Is this directed towards me? LOL I just reread my armpits and desire, the siren song of sweat post and shuddered! I really need to write my more long-winded posts in google docs or something! I don't always - obviously! A lot of my photos won't upload - I have to check what they're saved as I guess.
| |
| |
|
|
Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | LOL, no it's actually not directed at you, but rather at myself... And also just out of interest in general. I have mozilla firefox and it has a spell-check dictionary, so I just downloaded the Australian English one, and it fixes up the spelling, but if I accidentally write 'my' instead of 'by' or something like that, then it won't tell me (b*stard=P) Mylot only uploads jpg/JPEG format pictures I found out, which is a bit annoying, but you deal with it=P

artemis432 (1899) | 1 year ago | So wait, does that mean you can correct even without cutting and pasting to another program - lucky!

4. Thai_Guy (676) | 1 year ago | i usually preview the discussion before i respond to it.it helps me to be able to respond to them better on their task.

Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | Yeah, same, I always read someone else's discussion before I answer, I'm asking if you preview your own comment before posting it to make sure you didn't make any mistakes. =D

Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | Fair enough, so far it hasn't done me that much good, I normally don't edit, and sometimes the picture doesn't show up even after the preview. *sob* lol.

7. leizlmarie (1860) | 1 year ago | when i started posting here in mylot, i usually preview my response or post and check the construction of my sentences here.. but as time passes by especially now that i have always a target number of post a day, i just submit it without previewing my texts because it also takes time to preview when actually you can submit it directly.. but anyway, previewing is recommended to check your post..

| |
|
|
Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | Funnily enough, I've only started recently, and never thought of it when I first joined. I do have a minimum amount of posts per day, but not exactly a target=D

8. Ricko82 (411) | 1 year ago | I do preview my discussions before, but as I was getting used to posting discussions I never do anymore. I can check for any typographical errors as I write my discussions now. Saves a lot of time especially that myLot takes too much time to load. I do skim them for some obvious errors though, but I guess that's different from previewing them.
| |
| |
|
|
Malyck (1701) | 1 year ago | Yeah, it is different to just skim read, which I like to do if I have the time. Fortunately the connection's really fast on this computer, so I don't have much trouble with mylot taking a while to load=D Thanks for your response.

10. dpk262006 (5653) | 1 year ago | It is always safer and better to go for 'preview' but I in my hurry to post reply, directly submit it without going for preview and in the process, I commit many mistakes.:):)
