In other countries they give freedom to their children to choose if they want to by themselves as soon as they become 18 years old.
Here in the Philippines, as long as the parents can keep their children they will keep on living together even if there children are already married they still live in the same house. That's what you called an extended family. Great family bonding huh? ^___^
In your country what do if your children turns 18 years old? Do you practice the first one or do we have the same culture?

In India, the family bondage is so good, children are looked after and cared for very well no matter what is the economic status of a parents are. Infact, they educate till the time of they finding a job and even after the children find the job, they stay with parents and marriage is conducted by the parents, parents get the privilege of enjoying the company of grand children. Only in a few cases, where the children find the jobs in a distant places, the family is separated. Children too love to take care of the parents all the time and this family relation is the foundation of a culture that is so strong for thousands of years which is totally conspicuous in the west and elsewhere.

I'm from India and here too children have a free run and fun and leech their parents dry. I am stronly of the opinion that at 18, children need to move out and become independant and stop expecting their parents to wait hand and foot over them.
