Anyone play morrowind?

I played Morrowind a while ago (Morrowind 3 - The Elder Scrolls, that is). I don't know if I can answer your questions, because it's been a while, but you are free to ask.

I wish I could say I played it, but I have never even heard of it.

What is it? Roll playing? Fantasy?

Help me out with what it is, and a link that I can go check teh sight out on.

I'm going to let my husband field this one, so here he goes: Hello LordGregor, I own the Game of the Year edition, and played it extensively, until my Xbox stopped functioning. So I am on a hiatus right now, but I love this game! It's truly one of the most immersive, detailed, and time consuming rpgs ever. I mainly played a dark elf fighter character, so I don't know if my playing style will match yours, but I can tell you where to find one of the best longswords in the game, one I used so much I maxed out my longsword ability with it. Head somewhere in the mountains slightly east to northeast of Suran, at the very top of the mountain ridge there, just above a valley that borders Molag Maar. You will see an orc wearing orcish armor (looks like samurai armor.) He will talk about how he is weary of battle, because he cannot lose, blah blah blah. He is tough, but beatable. A good idea is to go buy some expensive buff scrolls, and use them. The sword you get not only has incredible attack numbers, but it is imbued with a rechargeable, distanced soulstone spell! So you can cast the spell, then attack with the same sword, kill most things easily, and create a soulstone. Definitely one of the best weapons in the game for fighter type classes. Any other questions you have, I would be glad to take a crack at, but gamefaqs also has several excellent quest guides and maps.

got the GoTy edition, including the two expantions, and a map, stopped playing it when oblivion came out, but i still think that in some parts, its better than oblivion

I love morrowind, I think it is the best game ever. although... I seem to be addicted to it... Ive been known to play for 8 hours strait. I have the GOTY edition (Game of the year) and I love downloading mods for it. I have a mod for it called ravenloft, an incredibly house. For example in part of the armory it has 26 manikins, at first I started stealing armor from todds test (coc ToddTest) just to fill it up! Im sorry to get a bit of topic, but if you want me to list some mods that will make the game more fun when you seem to have found and explored everything, then here they are:
Ravenloft: An INCREDIBLE house mod.
Pegasus horse ranch: A mod in which you can buy, sell, ride and train horses.
Assassins armory: adds heaps more weapon and armor for you to collect.
There are many more good ones which I may list at a later date, but remember...

yups, morrowind, one of the greatest rpg's i have played... dont play it anymore, since i bought oblivion now^^ its a huge improvement on the graphics, mostly, but i have played morrowind religiously aswell... got GoTY edition and both expansions... (hell, im feeling like playing it right now, actually XD)
