Have you or will you renew your wedding vows?

Me and my husband have talked about this and we both think its a fantastic idea. We got married in a civil ceremony in a registrars office because it was all we could afford at the time and I always said I wanted the works one day.

We've decided that when we have both completed university, we will wait exactly two years to save up the money and then renew our vows in as lavish a ceremony as possible. Were just about to celebrate our 7th anniversary and we figure it will prbably be on or around our 15th wedding anniversary that we will have them renewed.

Oh and way to go on staying together:)

In November My husband and I will be married 27 years. We did have a small church wedding, and the thought has crossed our minds about renewing our vows, but the boys want us to wait until they can afford the party and family reunion at the same time. So if we wait on them it maybe many many years LMAO. Besides that every other day I am threatening to kill their father, for some infraction or another:)) Such is marriage to begin with.

I suppose marrying my first husband 4 times would count.
1. In Tripoli, Libya (under Arabic law)
2. Tripoli, Wheelus AFB (under American law)
3. Paris, France (under French law)
4. Glasgow, Scotland...because my Grandmother had to witness it herself as she did not trust all these foreign marriages and would not believe they were legal! LOL

BTW way my lawyer nearly had a fit when I was getting divorced..as that was in Germany!

i am now marriead at all. but i think that if it is important for you, that you should renew your vows. just make some time for it, because it is very important. good luck with making a discision.

My husband and I were also married in a courthouse. I think at one point I had some regrets of being away from my family and not sharing my wedding with them, however, I am so stinking happily married that I dont feel I need to celebrate my wedding again. Perhaps we should celebrate our marriage, not the act of, but the 10 years that you have been with your husband, the happiness you feel. Throw yourselves a celebration, why renew vows you two are so good at now, just celebrate what you have achieved in some way?

I have been with Jeff for fifteen years and wouldn't give up a second of our time together.

My first husband will not give me a divorce and has been actively fighting it for twentsix years.

Jeff has not asked me to marry him as we both feel that after the problems I have been through in our legal system that a piece of paper saying we love each other is not important. He understands me so well. Susan

I have never seen people renew their wedding vows in my country. There will be busy time with the party. It is a good idea to bring the memory back to the couples for a sweet love.

My husband and I would also soon celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I'd like to renew our vows also and I'm sure he will like the idea, but maybe we will do that in our 15th anniversary, when our children are older, they are currently 2,4 and6 year olds. What I prefer is for us to do it alone, like no visitors, I think it would be more solemn like that.
But on our 25th anniversary, we would definitely have a grand wedding again like my parents. On their 25th anniversary they had a grand wedding in the church with my mom on beautiful white bridal gown complete with bridesmaids and all. It was even grander than their first wedding.
I really wish you'd go on with this plan. It would be wonderful, and I wish, with all my heart, that your marriage will last and be blessed with pure joy and happiness. Congratulations to you and your husband:)
