How often will you take a vacation from work,and what do you usually do then?

Well, for me, I don't take vacation too often.Perhaps just two to three times a year. Most in Early May and Early October, since the two 1st weeks in May & October are called Golden Weeks, when almost all Chinese Fatories, Schools etc would take 7 days leave. And also , we've got a long leave during Chinese New Year, which is also called Spring Festival, which is regarded the beginning of a new year per the lunar calender in CHina.
I would normally go home and stay with my parents since I don't go visit them that often now that it is 400 Kilo Meters from my work place to my hometown.
What about you, how long do your take vacation and what's your schedule for them normally?

Twice a year - that is when there is winter vacation and summer vacation. We can go out only when our son has holidays. I do not want to him to restrain from going toschool just because he want to accompany us. Normally in summer holidays, I got for 3 or 4 days, but my wife and son stay at their parents place for 15 to 20 days. He gets company of his cousins, when my wife's sister and her child do come there. During winter, I take the family to some important place of tourist interest and we spend 3 to 4 days depending on how many places we would like to see.
