5 year old fish died today  |

|  Hi, our fish that we had for over 5 years died today. We called him goldie. He was just a feeder with that we got at Mjiers. He go so big he looked like a pond fish. He was with us for like at least 5 moves and we are getting ready to move in our own house and we didnt think he would make it and he didnt. We all walked out and buried h im in the garden, he was to big to flush and may sounds nuts but we loved that fish!!!!!!!!

| |  I am very sorry for your loss and I COMPLETELY understand. I have 2 that have grown to be that size too...I've had many in the past. When mine die, I usually put them in our lake...I just figure their bodies would like to stay wet...but burying them is good too. It shows respect. Flushing them down the toilet, big or small, just seems like you're "flushing them away" like they didn't even mean anything. Also, large goldfish like that usually only live to about 5 years, so you've done a great job with him. Most DO NOT live up to 5 because of careless owners who just don't give a crap, so don't feel bad...you've done well. Most of mine only live up to 5 years too :-)

| | thanks. yes that is the longes we had a fish. He almost died a couple times from ick and we moved him lost. We just miss seeing him in the tank. He used to sucking all the rocks up and spit them out, trying get more food. He was a piggy.{lol}.He was really fun to watch. | | | |

| |  I know how you feel after 5 years you cant help it but feel sad. My son just killed 4 fish 3-4 days ago (he got the net got most of the fish out and I spend 30 min looking for them around the room, I got most of them back safe 1 was dead when I put it in, 1 died few hours later and 1 died the next day 1 I still cant find) my husband doesnt know yet or he would kill us :).

| |  I'm sorry that your fish died. Goldie was well loved and will be missed by your family. Its hard when a pet doesn't make it. Hope you have lots of pictures that you can look at to remember him when your feeling sad.

| |  Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. My brother had one of those aqua baby frogs, he had it for about 7-8 years and it died last weekend. It was really sad.
