The incident happened...yes it was based on a true event. However, the relationship between the two main characters, Jack and Rose, is a made up story by the producer I think. I can be wrong but that's what I remember someone telling me. It was a very beautiful movie though! I cry every time I watch it.

I don't know the truth,but there should be more than one true lovers there in Titanic. The story just showed us one of them.

Yes, I believe that its a real life story. I've watched the movie for so many times but I cant help but fall in love with Jack every time. Who wouldn't want to have a man who will protect you till his last breath... Its a wonderful story and I really love it. I guess it's one of the experience of one of the survivor. Its a real good story.

being the open minded person that i am,i say yes to the possibility that it might have been true, the other casts in the story are realy like the woman named molly, the people in the story actually did live.

Titanic is real, the movie was based on the research and accounts of that ship but I think the love story and the character rose and jack are all fiction.
