Wow, was that a weird game. For one thing, a large part of the game seemed to be decided not by who was playing well, but who was playing slightly less crappy. =P
Here were the two things that really got me though:
Jason Hanson MISSED!!! I've heard about it happening before, but I have never ever actually seen him miss before. I think the announcers said it was the first miss out of the last 19 attempts. My husband, who has been a huge fan of his for years was just going "But he's the best kicker ever, what happened?" I guess everyone has a bad kick once in a while, but I was really happy that he got to kick again at the end of the game and redeem himself. =P
The other thing that caught my attention: Is is just me, or is Kitna crazy? He was out a large part of the game after having being injured, then he comes back in, and he's practically trying to get himself killed it looks like. I don't see quarterbacks play like that when they're healthy even. I really admire his heart. I was just sitting there going "Did he just jump OVER that guy?" =P
Anyone else have thoughts on this game?

American football.
Sorry, I sometimes forget that this site has a lot of members from different countries! I'm so used to people just knowing what I'm talking about.
My husband is a huge football fan, and he's starting to get me into it. I really liked football already, at least playing it, or watching it in person, but I wasn't really into the professional teams before I met my husband. However, the more I learn about the players individually, the more I get interested into it.

I didnt get to see the game. I was working. I guess I really dont care how the Lions win as long as they finally win. I'm one of those fans that love them win or lose, but it would be nice to reach the post season again atleast.

I watched part of it. With the Lions, you never know what might happen. This year I am expecting them to do well, at least much better than the last 6 years. I have had a negative view toward them for so long (they deserve it though) that I decided to be positive and let it go at that. If they do well, fine, and if they do poorly, it won't bother me. They got the win and that is all that matters in the end. They played a bad team similar to Oakland but you still gotta win them to get into the playoffs.

Haha, you have a good point! My husband has been a die-hard Lions fan his whole life, but a lot of people in Michigan seem to almost be kind of ashamed of them. Especially up here in the UP, most people seem to root for the Packers instead. There are a few fair-weather Lions fans I know who'll get all excited if they win but the rest of them claim to hate them, but my husband is one of those that roots for them regardless. So I sort of became a Lion's fan by marriage, though I will admit this year I seem to be pretty into it. I even bought Dustin a Lions outfit.=P

I didn't watch the game, but I caught the highlights on SportsCenter. I've never been ashamed of the Lions, but I think I was in the 8th grade the last time they had a winning season. I will admit that I have been surprised with every win. My boys had Lions outfits as babies too. I was born and raised in Michigan. I lived there for 18 years of my life and most of my extended family still live there.
