Barry Manilow minus the View

I don't blame Barry Manilow for not wanting to be on the show.

I posted about this myself, under The View. All I have to say is good for the show. Guests shouldn't get to pick and choose who interviews them, particularly when the interview isn't going to be about "beliefs," but about a new album. I'm a fan of Manilow music, but I'm disappointed in Barry himself today.:(

And while it's his right to choose not to be on the show, it's just as much MY right to choose not to buy the new album after witnessing this episode of diva-like behavior.

I think this is like so many other topics in that those who support Elizabeth and her "views" will say she's right and those who support Barry's views will say he's right. And for many there will be NO changing their minds because they know they're RIGHT...lol I would guess there's more to it than what meets the eye, there must have been something Elizabeth has said or done - maybe unintentionally, I'm not attacking her - that personally offended Barry Manilow because, as others have said, he's never been one to openly discuss his political opinions when interviewed. If it's true they've settled their "differences" whatever they were and he's going to appear in the near future I'm going to make sure to watch.

I really don't care for Elisabeth. I think she's pushy and obnoxious. I agree with you that she seems to refuse to listen to anyone elses view. She strikes me as very close minded. Those kind of people can be very difficult to deal with.

I like Barry Manilow. Obviously he felt strongly enough about not wanting to be interviewed by Elisabeth that's why he made the request?

I'm not sure there is a right or wrong view to this spat. There obviously is a difference of opinion. Barry is a big enough star he can choose who he wants to be interviewed by though.

He shouldn't have accepted the invite in the first place. He knows Elisabeth is part of the show, and it is not up to him to pick and choose his interviewers. If you agree to go on a show that has several hosts, you are agreeing to sit down with all of the hosts.

I think it was childish. I teach my students everyday that, in life, you will always have to deal with people you don't like. You may not like your coworkers, but you have to work together and get the job done so you learn to deal with it. It's ridiculous that an ADULT can't be around someone just because they have different views.

Yeah, Elisabeth can be very obnoxious and stuck on her own beliefs, but, honestly, wasn't Rosie the SAME WAY?? I just think that Rosie's belittling attitude and "my way is right" personality was more accepted because more of The View's viewers agreed with her political standing and personal beliefs. The reason people don't like Elisabeth is because she stands for something they don't and they don't want to hear about it.

But that's life. You've got to talk to people who don't agree with you. You've got to deal with people you don't like. Just because you're a "celebrity" (if you can even call him that), doesn't make you any different.

well i hope that barry will not act like some difficult person. i think she is really having making a big fuss over one anchor host. well i think there is no thing wrong if she being interviewed by elizabeth though they some political difference. since they will only talk about his album. i hope that he will not take things personally. and that he would be professional.
