Barry Manilow vs. Elizabeth Hasslebeck...

This is news to me, anniepa, but I quit watching The View a few years ago. I guess I just grew away from it. It does seem that Elizabeth Hasslebeck is becoming sort of notorious. I hope this will not place her future on the show in jeopardy.

T I stopped watching the show when Rosie started on it. There were too many arguments and it just wasn't fun to watch anymore.
I would imagine it was because she is a conservative and he is a liberal. He finds her opinions offensive.

The last I heard he wasn't going to appear. I guess he is just afraid of the one lonely conservative voice on the show and one of very few on all of TV. I don't watch the show, I did a little a long time ago because it was on when I started fixing my lunch, but I switched to a soap because I got tired of the extreme left opinions and the male bashing; this was before Elizabeth. Actually, it was from a little before 9/11 to several months after and just a few days before 9/11 they tearing into some policeman that had been bought to their attention for doing something good I think, but very quickly they were tearing into him for being a man. For a short time after 9/11 they let up on men but soon started up again. The men they didn't bash were left leaning celebrities.

Here's the email that fan club members received the day before he was scheduled to appear:

Hey guys,
I wanted to let you know that I will no longer be on The View tomorrow as scheduled. I had made a request that I be interviewed by Joy, Barbara or Whoopi, but not Elisabeth Hasselback. Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request so I bowed out.

It’s really too bad because I've always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs. The good news is that I will be on a whole slew of other shows promoting the new album so I hope you can catch me on those.

I don't have a clue what "beliefs" would be compromised by sitting on the couch with the entire panel, talking about his new album and his music. But they have apparently settled their differences, and he will be appearing, in the near future, with EVERYONE.

I haven't heard anything about this.
But than I don't watch the veiw.
I find they don't do enough research before they start spouting their veiws.
If you are going to talk about something than you should know what you are taling about before you start saying anything. In my opinion. Susan
