The first round over with and the runoff to come in early November, the question is, will Guatemala follow the steps of many Latin American countries and go for a populist candidate or will Guatemalan history continue to reject the left? More so, what are the consequences for the US and in the world if this were to happen? Will there be a "dis balance" of power in the Americas?
