Some friends, sea-faring uncles must have given you a currency of a foreign country. Sometimes, it is more than a dollar's worth. How you encashed this one or two notes of foreign currency? Did you get the right exchange or gave it away for a song? What country currency you had and how much it fetched?

I give it to the coin and notes collectors and collect exchange value from them. That is easier, because there are no street money -changers like Dubai and Singapore.

Yes you are right. Banks do not exchange one or two notes of foreign currency (unless the denomination is high like $100 etc.)
