email problem and the tech tell me i have to uninstall my earthlink just to fix

my email is acting funny giving me errors. So i went to my earthlink for a live tech chat to fix the problem. Files are missing and they tell me that i have to delete my earthlink all together and reinstall it just to fix the problem and that is not so. They said that they could do a link up but i had to have high speed and just my luck i only have dial up. Sprint was the phone company but it changed to embarq but i was able to keep the earthlink at the same price that it is. But guess what the area i live in is not serviced with high speed only dial up. So you know that is wrong. I even chatted with embarq and they said that it's not in the area and they don't know when it will be. JUst keep checking. You know that's wrong.
