Older, collectible cars  

I just answered your other post and asked about the Jag
1993 XJ6,s are pretty common place here,and you were right to love it.
They just dont make them like Jaguar used to anymore.
The new range of Jaguars(fords really)are just not the same.
Can I ask how much you expect to get for a 1993 XJ6 on your side of the pond.
Here,I could pick a good one up for around 1000 pounds,thats about 2000 dollars.

Oh...I found my soul sister! I've always had a "thing" for Jaguars..and I love the older ones rather than the newer ones..In fact I prefer most older cars...they LOOK like cars, not the boxy crap they have today...I would say most pre-1980s cars were the best...and gee the 1950s cars were enormous...you could live in them!
Did you know you now have to order that famous Jaguar hood ornament special now...they don't include it on the newer cars....and that was what I loved best about them--that little jaguar

My ex-boyfriend collects old cars, but he does not restore them, he just loves to drive them. Over ten years ago he bought a 1959 Oldsmobile 98. It is rose colored and the year of his birth. That thing is like longer than a bus.
A lot of people have wanted to buy it from him, but he refuses to sell it. He more recently purchased a 1969 tan station wagon, which is the year that I was born. I think that the old station wagons are sooooo ugly. But, he absolutely loves it.
My uncle has a candy apple red Mercedez. I do not know the year of it, but it was already an antique when he bought it at least 30 years ago. My favorite car is Mercedez and the older models are better. The newer ones don't even look like Mercedez to me. Have fun with the cars.

Here's a picture of the car that my husband's been working on for such a long time. He gets too busy to work on it, and then he loses interest. I caught him about a week ago, and he said he might be able to start it soon. Over the years, he's told me he'll have the car on the road by next summer at least 5 times. I say nothing about it, and I don't really care. I had an old 68 Mustang fastback that I loved. If he was working on one of those, I'd be be excited about it.

My dad has a really old Corvette I am not sure the year but I think its one of the originals. Its restored but he never drives it. ITs basicly in storage

I am not into restoring old cars but I have 2 friends who like to do that. One is finishing up a 1950s bullet-nose Studebaker and has just started on a 1955 T-bird. My other friend has a 1932 Willys and he used to have a 1934 pickup that I think he sold.

Well don't come where i'm at cause we have a junk yard and we crush all the old car we get. I know it makes me sad sometime I want a mustang and every one that we get in is gone there is no way that we couls every fix it up one time we got a 1932 Chev. car that was running everyone wanted to buy it but no one wanted to pay so it ended up being crushed to so sad

My husband loves to look at the older cars. In particular he likes those little Spiders or the MG's. They are so tiny and they are very fast. He is 6 ft. tall but he is a very broad guy so he looks so silly in one, he barely fits in them, but that is his dream to restore one and keep it for his own. If I were you, I would never get rid of that jag. If you love it, why sell it? I am sure it is a beautiful vehicle and well maintained. If I were you I would definitely keep it! I think that sometimes the older models are built better, because they were built to last, today, not so much.

I like looking at old cars, plains, trains and ships all the time. Too bad I couldn't reassemble any of them as I am now. I bet if I just sat down and went with it I could probably fix up any of those. Problem is the train and ship would probably take decades. So I'll keep admiring and if I somehow get a chance to restore classic, who knows, I might just take it. One other thing I want to do, is get old, very old (80s) computers from when I was a kid and just restore them. Probably as an outward appearance at first, then maybe try to restore the real guts.
