What drives husbands to cheat on their pregnant wives?

I know that not all men cheat and their are some wonderfull husbands out there who deserve a steak dinner tonight. I was talking to a friend who was telling me about how she works with the husband of a friends of ours that is almost 8 months pregnant with twins. It's been a very fragile pregnancy and one that took her years and years to achieve but she's been on bed rest nearly the entire time. Well it seems that her husband is not only sleeping with a co-worker but their new home decor and furniture was all picked out by the "other woman" right before they found out she was pregnant. Which her husband had promised he'd take care of, he wanted to do it as a present to our friend and instead had his other lady pick it all out. That is a huge deal for women! This got me thinking back and I remember my exe's best friend who was newly married and soooooo happily in love with his wife, well she became soon pregnant with triplets and through her pregnancy she cheated because he said his wife was now fat. Umm... she's creating 3 lives at once while still maintaining her own pediatric office, pretty effin impresive... jerk. My best friend's husband cheated on her when she was pregnant for the same reason, he said she'd gotten fat. And my father cheated on his wife when she was pregnant... which is how I came into the picture and then dumped my mom when she became pregnant. It goes on and on, I don't think I know of any men that haven't cheated on their wives when pregnant.
So I ask... why? The "she got fat" excuse is bullsh#t! I mean serisouly, since the begining of man women have gotten pregnant and we all know where the baby grows and what it does to her body. It's not like it's a big surprise that a woman's belly grows when she's expecting a child. So what gives?

That's horrible. I was watching a show about that once though, the men all say women change because of their hormones and they get fat and things like that and it's like DUH! They're having a baby! They have another person inside of them! Sometimes men play stupid very well.

I totally agree about playing stupid well! I once dated a guy that pretended he didn't know how to change a tire because he didn't want to get his new suit dirty but he totally knew how.

You don't know any man who hasn't cheated on his wife while pregnant? That's really sad. It sounds like you need to find better people to know. As for the question, though, it has nothing to do with the wife being pregnant. There are men that cheat on their wives even when they're not pregnant. There's never a reason or excuse to cheat. If a person loves the one they're with, they won't cheat on them, plain and simple. A person who is going to cheat, will regardless of the circumstances. Why the excuse of her getting fat? Because people feel better when they have a reason, however false, that they can put up in defense of their actions. If people got to know their partners a lot better before marrying them, this situation wouldn't happen so often. A lot of things need to be talked out and through before marriage comes into the picture.

I agree that everything should be put on the table before even thinking marriage. And no I don't know one man ever, even out of ones that are friends or family or I've worked with, that haven't cheated on their wives. That is one major reason why I think I choose to stay single and never marry.

Sounds like they were just ancy for an excuse and took the first lame one that came along.Do they really wonder who or what made her "get fat"? I mean seriously, that sounds like what a little life-ignorant little boy would come up with.I like people that don't cheat. i don't cheat.i ddserve me some steak.

Huge steak for you! I agree, it is a lame excuse. And she's such a good wife, her whole life is her husband and for him to not just run around but then call her fat and fill her house with furniture his lover picked out? That's just lazy and mean.

I hate cheaters.Based on your story he is so cruel for cheating on his wife while she is having a very delicate pregnancy.I pity the wife.

The good thing is that she does not know, I don't know if someone will tell her after the fact but right now it's best not to upset her and risk premature labor. He is being very cruel, he doesn't deserve the wife he has.

Hun is quite enamored of pregnant ladies... he says I was the most beautiful then! When he sees them on the street he smiles a lot, and when our daughters were pregs, he'd get these tears in the corners of his eyes...
BUT... our daughter was separated from husband(?) number one when she had our grandson... he developed apnea and was in the hospital, so she called mike and told him. All he asked her was if she was skinny yet!No word of worry or even concern... thats when she filed the papers.

That's so sweet, awww. He totally gets brownie points (made with Splenda of course, lol). Your daughter's ex sounds like mine, he'll call ever now and then and always asks me if I'm working out or skinny yet. I've always been a big girl, when we dated I was a big girl so he makes no sense. I always say "Since when have you know my fat a$$ to go to the gym? And since when has your jaw not dropped at my fat a$$ and all your dirty little dreams that go with it? Maybe we should work on that big head of yours and making it fit through doors, it affect your vision cuz I'm fabulous and apparently you can't see that anymore!" I swear I say those words everytime we talk, why does he still bother? In fact, lol I've given him a complex about his head being huge for real, lol. It's normal sized but I wanted to see how he'd like it for a change and now he wears a hat everywhere he goes. Men like that are a dime a dozen, he should go hang out with your daughters ex.

the lamest excuse I've ever heard that the reason why men cheat on their wives because she's fat and pregnant?! well men who treat women like these don't deserve to live a happy life. Do men belive in karma? ..i guess notÜ

Basically men cheat for the same reason, whether their wife is pregnant or not. It just seems worse if she is pregnant. Men cheat because: It is forbidden, and they are defiant; it is the "manly" thing to do; opportunity presents itself; they enjoy the thrill of living dangerously, and hoping they will not get caught; they hang around with other cheaters or were brought up in that environment. I probably could come up with a lot more reasons, but it does not matter, if they are going to cheat, they will. They may use pregnancy as an excuse, but the truth is, they want to sample more candy.

Unfortunately, I am the other woman in a "cheating situation". The lover I am involved with has a girlfriend that is 8 months pregnant. He approached me and did let me know that he had a relationship and his lady was preggers. Being a dog, I slept with him and enjoyed every hour, second and minute of the affair! Now, he continually wants to meet and indulge in our lustful activities. I asked him how he feels about continuing our escapades and the fact that he is cheating on his pregnant significant other; he always evades the discussion. He mentioned that he is simply attracted to me, a twenty-something skinny and shapely individual, but still loves his woman, obviously very pregnant at 8 months. I really feel that he is enjoying the "forbidden candy" that is visibly far on the other end of the spectrum from his pregnant lady. However, I just don't understand what true love is anymore! Does a cheating man REALLY love his significant other even though they indulge in forbidden pleasures with another?

Oh geez! What kind of guys do you know? *laughs* I haven't known any of those guys you mentioned before personally. But I did hear something about cheating. I think it's just an excuse for a cheater, come to think of it, isn't it? If they cheat, they cheat anytime they want, and women becoming pregnant seems to be a good excuse for it because they have gotten "fat" (really stupid excuse I have to say, it's like they never did "contribute" to the baby inside?!). I don't think it's the pregnancy honey, I think it's the person.

I knew some friends of mine that have had those kinds of husbands. Whheew!
So stupid of the husband coz he was the one who made his wife fat of getting her preggy. D^mn to that guys!
They made some excuses just to fulfill their greediness of human flesh. They are a total ..j*rk! (sorry for being mean here) I am honestly hurt of what they did to their wives.(sigh)

Sick story shared G. That guy is a total knave.
Men cheat for a lot of reasons, pregnant or not. I'm guessing he's using the pregnancy/she got fat excuse because it was convenient. He's a brat and he'll use any excuse pregnant or not. Usually its because they aren't being satisfied or because they think they can get away from it.
Now that that's out of the way I'm gonna ask an equal question but I know no one will read it, answer it or care.

Some of their excuses
"Cause he bores me"
"I don't find him sexually attractive anymore" (but using his limo and wallet is okay) -_-
"He got fat"
"I thought I could get away with it"
"It doesn't hurt anyone"
"I deserve more" (after the husband works 60 hours a week to keep her supported)
"Its my life" (you vowed to share it with your husband not a random prettyboy)
I can hear the crickets they are deafening.
Oh and a final point before I forget. Testing center stats show a 20%-25% chance of this occurring. Not like your personal experience example, but remember its testing centers and they have a wider population to work with.

There are a lot of reason to consider. The closest and which is sitting on my mind now is maybe because the husband is no longer satisfies with her wife during their love making. because the condition of the wife may hinder her to perform the way she used to. And the choice of position is sometimes ackward. Another thing is maybe because pregnant women tends to gain more weight. And their appeal lessens so their husbands tend to easily gets attracted to other sexier women. Well, these are mere guess, but not yet a proven facts. It is really up to the man whether he will look for another woman or cheat his pregnant wife.
