What's your favorite type of hockey player?

Do you love goaltenders? Or maybe you're a lover of the marquee guys like Peter Forsberg and Joe Sakic?
Me? I love defensemen and grinders. I especially love defensive defensemen. You know, the ones who don't score a lot but they're always right there in front of their own goaltender blocking shots and clearing the puck on the PK.

Great question.I like the grinder that is a offensive minded defenseman.Like Holmstrom of The Red Wings.He is always planted in front of the other goalie. He knows he will be hit, slashed,crosschecked, whatever but there he will stay. And on the other side, he will go down and block pucks all night if needed. But my all time favorite player is a ringer that plays like a defenseman, Brendan Shanahan.He will score for you, block shots, skate from one side to the other and just in the right moment, he'll pass it to you.And he will stand in what I call his office, right in front of the other guy's goalie, just waiting for the perfect pass. Sometimes I would see him do a Gretzky and take up space in the back of the other's guy goal, but usually he is right in front and it is like he is invisible because the defense doesn't even try to move him. I know he isn't the biggest guy but I know he isn't invisible.And he isn't a prima donna like Forsberg.And he isn't as flashy as Sakic so he can move around without the other team tracking him.
