shall i buy my mother a hearing aid?

last saturday,when i visited my mother,i found my mother is much more deaf than ever.she couln't hear me even i had raised my voice so that people outside my house could hear. though she had difficulty in hearing others before,now it is more serious. my father wants to buy her a hearing aid.but mother said it is said hearing aid will harm brain.since she is accustomed to it,there is no need to wear it.i don't know whether hearing aid will do harm to our brain or other part of the body.if there is a kind of hearing aid which will not do harm to other part of the body,i will buy her one .who can provide some information about it?
