Another tough week, but there is hope!!! |

Well, it's hard to say it out loud, but Notre Dame lost again. But the Irish showed some signs of life. They actually outgained Purdue in total yards 426 to 371. Looks like rushing could still use some work, but passing and receptions improved . The offensive line seems to be doing a better job than previous games. All in all, a vast improvement from a few weeks ago. Things are starting to come together. We are strong and we are proud. Go Irish!

1. starlight81 (802) | 3 years ago | It is tough...0-5 is hard to swallow. I missed the first half of the game...I wasn't expecting it to be on so early. I tuned in just in time for the second half..and I have to say...I liked what I saw! I couldn't believe they were actually ahead in total yards either. I think they should start with Evan Sharpley this next game...I'd like to see what happens. So far I'm more impressed with Evan than I am with Jimmy. It seemed like the offense responded better to Evan. Either way I'm happy they at least came back and gave it their best. GO IRISH!!!!

3. randyw (222) | 3 years ago | My biggest worry is that our long winning streak against Navy will be snapped this year.
What do you think? Will the embarassment get worse with a loss to Navy?
Sharpley looked pretty darn good at QB in the 2nd half of that game, by the way.

| smdp77 (4) | 3 years ago | Yes, I'm actually worried about the Navy game. Navy has been putting points on the board. They are 3-2, having lost to Rutgers and Ball State. Notre Dame has three very tough games ahead of them before the schedule eases up slightly. But I believe Navy will be a battle for them this year. We can only hope they will continue to improve as they have been. They have made strides over the last two games and starting to click. A loss to Navy would be tough to face. Notre Dame haters will have a field day with that. I unfortunately didn't get to see most of Saturday's game, but I did see some of Sharpley's highlights. Do you think maybe Weis should start with him instead of Claussen? Maybe give Claussen more time? He was out alot this summer with that bone spur problem. Oh, how I miss Brady!

randyw (222) | 3 years ago | I'd say go w/ Sharpley. Claussen has all the potential in the world, but he just doesn't look like he belongs out there yet. He's close, but not close enough.

4. marriedman111399 (905) | 3 years ago | I believe that Notre Dame is improving each week. They had a good game against Purdue. They scored a few touchdowns and they seemed better than last week. I think that the fans are just going to have to be patient with the team and hope for a good season next year. Go Irish
