Do you think anxiety disorders and panic attacks are all in your head or is there a real chemical imbalance in the brain that causes these symptoms/actions?

I don't doubt decades of scientific evidence. The majority of people who suffer from a panic or anxiety disorder truly do have an imbalance in their brain. That's also a reason some people suffer from depression. So much research has been done, that I overlook the nay sayers. They probably have never been through that, and I bet they would change their mind if they did have to go through it all. I can't imagine it myself.

People like my own relatives think it's all in your head. It's not. I know it's not. it has only been six months but it's been the most horrible six months of my life. Imagine not going to your favorite store for six months and counting because just standing at the doors makes you feel like you are having a heart attack. It's unimaginable unless you have actually had one. And trust me, you never want to. Everyone's different but the feeling is the same.

I'm bipolar, so I can understand a little bit, but I greatly sympathize with those who are as affected as you. And it's a horrible shame people don't realize the validity of the disease.
