Old age home or live on your own?

When you become old would you like to move into an old age home or would you like to live on your own? Nowadays we find most of the homes very sophisticated with alot of activities.There are many couples moving in as they feel they will have lots of company,no need to cook& clean, there are doctors and nurses to care for them.And above all they have many activities to keep them occupied.What would be your preference?

My opa have just been put into a home. He is getting older and it is too hard for him to life on his own. He hates it there. None of his children want to take him in because they are very busy and he needs a lot of care.
I think it is so sad. I wouldn't want to be in a home. I told the children. No matter what, don't put me in a home, leave me in your basement and throw a potato down now and then, but never a home. I am not a very social person and I like my own space.
