Favorite Character  | |  Everyone knows American Dad was produced after Family Guy was cancelled and before it was brought back and that the characters of the two shows have a lot of similarities.
My questions is who is your favorite character on American Dad and does it match the characteristics of your favorite character on Family Guy?
My favorite character on American Dad is Roger who is very similar to Brian, who is my favorite character on Family Guy.

Or is the alien thing the counterpart of Brian the talking dog on Family Guy? Well, I like the alien thing on the American Dad too.

| | | 3. Hmmmmm (1687) | 3 years ago |  I thought American Dad was created by Seth MacFarlane as a result of Family Guy's success after being brought back to Fox.
There's no question there are a lot of similarities. I am not a fan of American Dad (I did watch it for an entire season before I passed judgment), but if I had to choose, I would also choose Roger. I don't think that the lines they give Roger are nearly as witty as the lines they give Brian though.
