With the recent passing of my Mom almost 2 weeks ago, there is a Song that is going thru my head all of the time, and since I am also a Christian, it has been a comforting one as well. I think it is just God trying to talk to me, and tell me everything is going to be all right.
That song for me, is "Above All" by Michael W. Smith. Everytime I hear the song it brings tears to my eyes, and will always bring special meaning. For anyone who has never heard this one, I challenge you to listen to this one, and see what meaning it might have for you.

Excellent song, I've listened to it many many times - I am a big fan of Michael Smith's :)
For me, there are actually 2 songs "Trust and Obey" it was the first Christian song I ever learned and to this day when I can't find words for prayer I'll just sing or hum that song to myself (and God).
The second is "Roar" by Ray Boltz. I saw Ray live in concert at our church a few years ago and that song has become my response when I know there is a lot of 'evil' around me "Are you ready to hear the Lion of Juda roar" kind of a way of say - repend NOW. LOL I have the CD with that on it in my laptop right now!

There is a Gospel Song called "Jesus lover of my soul" I really love this one. ..I don't know the singer ..but it's beautiful because "It's not about me.. it's all about You"

I like this song too! I've done interpretive dance to it at church. It is a beautiful song. Your right, not about me, but about Him.

Actually I put it on my website for tomorrows scipture meditation of the day. The reading for tomorrow talks about Martha and Mary and how upset Martha was that Mary stayed at the feet of Jesus. Had Martha not complained, she too could have boasted of having had the better part.
Many people think its better to sit and pray all day; but really the best thing to do is what is yours to do at the moment for love of Jesus ..for love of God.

That is quite a special song. I am deeply touched by music, and at different times in my life I have found that music makes the tears flow from my eyes, even if I do not feel sad. I just feel touched. This has been going on since 1996 for me. I am okay where I am in my life right now, but I miss my first husband, my grandmother, my mother, my sister and the list goes on. I think of them when the music starts.

Yes, certain songs and Music does have this effect does it not. Hard to believe such Beautiful songs such as this have come from him. I am sure when he lost his Adopted daughter this song held a lot of personal memories of things to be Thankful for as well.

I AM WOMAN by helen reddy.
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul
I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong

Born for You is the most memorable song for me. My hubby & I used to have it as our theme song. Because we came from two different worlds and yet we manage to see each other. We are really meant to be.

Another one I love is "Faithful One" by Brian Doerksen..I just cannot comprehend how faithful our God is..:)and though many times we are not,he remains to be so faithful and loving.

I am going to look on my rhapsody account and see if I can find it. I'm glad it brings you comfort and my condolences on your mom. I like the song " I could sing of your love forever" by sonic flood, it's a Christian song. for myself personally my song was always "lean on me" Bill withers or " Into the mystic" Van Morrison.

Hi KrauseHome. I hope you will be alright soon. Yea, I did hear the song before. At the same time, I like a song from Celine Dion - "Goodbye's (the saddest word)". Hope you will like it.
