Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

well is is my own thoughts so this is not researched fact, maybe it does a little, maybe when it rains it does shrink just a little so it can grow a little more, maybe it is natures way of controlling the amount of wool on a sheep, because what did sheep do before humans started shering them, told you I was a deep thinker...
