Ok I realize that every dog can not be fed forever when there are so many that keep comming in but it is heartbreaking that man's best friend come to such an end! Please before you inpulsively get that cute puppy ..remember it will someday be a large sometimes annoying dog! Make sure you will be able to keep him for his whole life or make provisions for him incase of an emergency. Make sure he is the correct breed for your lifestyle..if you are debilatated in an way you will not want a large headstrong breed. And please visit this site and see the dogs soon to be killed due to the thoughtlessness of the humans they loved! I hope it makes you as sad as it does me! Out of our sadness we can do what we can and pass the site on to others..Maybe someone you know wants a best friend before it's too late! http://www.dogsindanger.com/ xoxoxoxoxoxo

I used to run a dog shelter , and would dummy paperwork for any dof on the "putdown" list until they did get adopted. Many a dog had many and identity,lol...but it worked. It was a town run shelter of a capacity of 9,I'd take extras home, or get them to other shelters.I campaigned and finally got it to be an official no-kill shelter, it wasn't necessary to harm any dog, and finally they saw the light with enough sigs on a petition. Thanks for your post and your concern.

What a fantastic post Mom! I adore dogs but I do not have one - simply because I know our schedules would make it hard to ensure a dog had all the attention and love it deserved! I hate to see these dogs put to sleep due to the thoughtlessness of others - cats too! My cat was rescued with her brother and sister when they were barely hours old - they were found dumped in a bin bag just a mile away from the RSPCA ahelter - how sick is that? My brothers dog is now on valium (honestly ) as it has developed seperation anxiety and virtually destroyed their house but they would not dream of getting rid of him - he is part of the family! Thanks for the link - I hope we can do some good! Love you xxxxx
