Do you think wide scale football violence is a thing of the past in the UK?

After watching and reading about football violence abroad in countries such as Argentina and Italy, I am keen to find out if people think that football violence in the UK has diminshed in recent years. In Glasgow there is a fierce rivalry between Rangers & Celtic, however this appears tame as to the Rivalry between Boca & River or Lazio & Roma. Is football violence becoming a thing of the past in the UK or is it just more wide spread in the lower divisions. I am keen to hear peoples views on it, as British fans are thought of as the most violent, however Polish, Russian and Argentinan fans appear in reality to be much more violent.
