| How big is your bedroom? On tv we see American bedrooms as being huge with a built in wardrobe or walk in, arm chairs, a desk, a dressing table, in fact lots of room to move about. Are your bedrooms really like that? In Australia the bedrooms seem to be rather cramped. I have a queen bed with bedside tables against one wall and only about 8 inches either sideof them. Between the end of the bed and the built in is about 31/2 feet. Other furniture is a cane princess chairI use to dump stuff on.,

| | We have three bedrooms here in our house, with one as what we would like to call as the master's bedroom. My parents were the one's who stays on that room, it's not that big also. I'm not from the US though, I think our bedrooms are also fairly enough to sleep at. | | | | | | |

| | My bedroom is 10 by 10 with a joke for a closet. This house has no "master suite" in fact, it only had 1 bathroom until we did the addition in 1999. That added about a 3rd again the space of the original house, but really only gave us a 2nd bath, a 6 by 8 foot room we use for the cat stuff & additional space in the kitchen. The largest bedroom is 10 by 13. The smallest is 8 by 10. I have a twin bed I sleep in, the roomie, who has the largest room has a super single water bed & the roomie in the smallest room has a futon I don't think she's ever had up in the couch so it takes up most of the room. We have a converted single car garage that could be a bedroom, but we use the laundry room off that room as our 1 single closet for all our clothes. One roomie & I can share shirts & we do, we have a pretty good idea who's is really who's. The other roomie is a size 4 so there's no question we can't wear her clothes! LOL My house was built in the late 1970's & would've been considered, even then, as a "starter home." Of course, I've been here since 1984.... I'm happy, if I NEVER move again it'll be too soon! | | | | | | |

| | You & I are pretty much of an age & the fibro makes it hard to do things other people my age can do. The older roomie has a year on me & a bad hip but is the size 4. The other is 7 years younger with diabeties, high blood pressure, cholestoral, and visual impaired! She's also about 9 inchs taller than I am which is why we can wear shirts but not pant! LOL. | | | |

| | Well, you know how it is, Ms Tickle. Single women without high power, high paying jobs. If you don't want to live in a tiny apartment, or if you have pets, you have to make some compromises - and living together is one of those compromises. | | | |

| | My son's room is about 15x12 or so. It has 2 twin beds (headboards included) a large dresser, a floor lamp, a tox box and room to walk around the beds, so it is a nice size. This has been the largest apartment we have ever had at about 1024 square feet total. | | | |

| | I beleive the one I have now is 1x12 one wall has a vanity thats drawerss with mirror. Queen bed sets in the middle with 2 endtables other side a have what the used to call a space saver it has a drawer and severel selves. next to that my chest of drawers has a tv on it. the closet is at the foot of my bed. just have room to walk around 3 sides of the bed thats it. The old house my bedroom was 15 z 22 and I had plenty of room more than needed. So some houses have small rooms and others have big rooms | | | | | | |

| | It sounds just right...maybe a tad small but it still sounds very functional. As long as I can fit in my queen sized water bed and some lamp tables I'm happy. There's no where to put a tv in my room but I was thinking of a smal one on a wall bracket...remote control of course. | | | |

| | i, like you, have a small room compared to the American ones you see. Its probably about the size of your by the sounds of it. Maybe mine is a bit wider, as i have about 2 feet at the most either side of the side tables. Best wishes to you, and take care | | | | | | |

| | Some American houses have huge master bedrooms. I always marvel at the big furniture they have. I live in Canada and I think we do things on a smaller scale. However, master bedrooms are also popular. I bought a condo. It has two bedrooms and a den and two bathrooms. One bedroom is a guest room,it has a queen size bed, an armoire,a built in wardrobe two bedside tables and a chair. It is rather cramped. The den is lined with bookshelves and my electronic equipment. The master bedroom contains two more bookshelves, a wardrobe, a chair, TV, VCR and a tiny fridg in case you wake up in the night and want some cold water. Off this bedroom is the second bathroom containing shower, sink and toilet. Some people like bigger master bedrooms. I have also seen many many houses and apartments with small bedrooms. I guess it depends on what you like and can afford. There also seem to be cultural differences. I was in Germany recently and visited some people in a brand new large house. The master bedroom was of average size, a double bed, end tables and a walk in closet but no ensuite bathroom. There was one huge bathroom in the house with separate glassed in shower and big tub. Other than that there was only one tiny guest toilet off the main entrance. The main entrance was also very large and the stairs to the second floor were very wide. Usually here in Canada the entrance hall is quite small (in an average house) and the stairs are kind of narrow. I guess things are different in different countries. | | | | | | |
