Nihonggo! i want to learn nihonggo, the Japanese language, badly but i just dont have the resources (which means money ^__^;;) and the time to enrol in a class. i have wanted to learn this language since time immemorial and what i have done so far is buy some books on how to learn simple nihonggo but its hard to study and remember the words when im not practicing it. ^__^;; that's because there's no one for me to talk with in nihonggo and no one to write to using kanji and hiragana (im not sure about this hiragana). the only time i can practice the little i've learned is through watching subbed anime and reading all the translations and the kanji of the OP and ED at the same time when they're running the credits. LOL
fortunately, i have friends who i can ask about the nihonggo term for this and that. ^__^

I think that learning a foreign language is fun and a very useful thing to do. I learned French when I was at school. It is a beautiful sounding language along with Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian. These languages sound quite romantic and are very pleasant to listen to. I have just started learning Spanish and have covered the very basics of the language. It is an enjoyable thing to do and it will help me when I travel to Central American countries like Costa Rica and South American countries like Peru.
Some languages are easier to learn for the average native English speaker than others. I think French, German, Spanish and Italian are fairy easy to learn. Other languages that have a different type of alphabet might be quite challenging to learn, like Greek, Bulgarian, Russian, Arabic or Japanese. Of course some people are gifted when it comes to learning languages. Dutch people are often very competent at speaking many languages, especially English completely fluently.
I met some English people in Bulgaria. They were learning Bulgarian and found this very challenging. However the local people helped them quite a lot. I met some Americans in Portugal and they were learning Portuguese and found it quite okay to learn. If someone is learning French the local people in French speaking places are happy to speak French. However in some countries the desire to speak English is so strong it is difficult to get the locals to help you practice, for example Dutch in Holland. The Dutch people spoke English to me and German to my German friends. They are really nice friendly people though.

I'm glad to read about someone who enjoys learning Romanian, which is my native language. Many people find it quite difficult to learn. Good luck!

i am planning to enroll in a foreign language class hopefully this summer. i love to learn spanish, french and italian. im glad that my mobile phone had an application which provides me quick search for the most commonly use words when you are travelling, when you eat in a restaurant, when you want to ask something ..etc of five languages. during my free time, i try to read the words and practice it. here in the Philippines we have a lot of dialect. im trying my best to understand some of it. luckily, i can understand about six dialects... :-)

You don't just learn a language to go on a trip but also it's pretty handy when you look for a new job. You never know, it may come out useful sometime.

I've been dying to learn Nihonggo, if I've been given a chance to learn another language. As of now, aside from speaking the Philippine language, Filipino, I can speak English too, obviously hehe. Unfortunately, I don't have some resources to learn the language but I already found a school that teaches Nihonggo well. Hopefully, I could enroll myself if I'm able to save money for the tuition fee.

Wow! Id love to study French. Ive read on one book that French is one of the most difficult language to learn thats why I am very interested with it. Im a Filipino and I speak English, Spanish, and Japanese. I understand Portuguese but speak little since it makes me confuse with some Spanish words which makes my tongue twist. LOL!

I am studying French too! It's the only foreign language course in our elective classes, and I would want to try it, so I picked it. It's kind of cool. I am already bilingual, I speak Filipino and English, Filipino is my first language, English is second, and maybe French would be third. I want to visit France too!
