I know that sounds a bit strange cause she can be a total witch. But she knows that sitting around and acting like a lady won't always help you survive. She knows how to work hard and to go get what she wants. She could be a total lady if she wanted too or needed too. She's knew how to survive in any situation. If it hadn't been for her half the charaters would have died.

I agree that she was a strong character, but as far as being a witch, I don't think so. I think her strong personality was out of the norm and that was way she was protrayed as being manipulative and strong.

You have to remember that she broke the mold of what a woman should have been during those times. In today's world, I think that she would fit right in.

However, there is a part of me that did feel sorry for her. Her manipulation of people was her ulimate downfall. She faught for someone that did not share her effection and in the end she lost someone she loved because of her obsession with somoene else.

I think that this film was an eye opener for woman to not play the games with other people and their emotions. It does show a strong person that would do anything to survive, yes, but in the end what did she really gain???

I think that she was a strong charcter that character is what kept those around her alive when she was needed, but just when the world calmed down she reverted back to using her womanly charms to blind side people and use them.

I felt sorry for her because I don't think she really knew what love was, she was just a woman that wanted her own way and she didn't realize or cared who she used to get it. Yes, she would have fit nicely in today's world. I see more and more charcters like her everyday.

Here's an example of how she could be a witch, she married Frank Kennedy. He was in love w/. her sister and Scarlett lied to him in order to marry him and get the money she needed to save Tara. I under her need to save Tara and how many people were depended of her to get the tax money. But do her ends really justify her methods? Plus, she made Frank Kennedy hell. She liked being in charge and she did have a will to survive. I do feel sorry for her too, she was a very confused woman she liked being able to get what she wanted in life but she didn't always know what she wanted. With every get character they all have they're faults, Scarlett was confused and had a bit of a mean streak (intentional or not). But I still think she's a get role model because she's a strong woman, a surviver, and someone I try to be.

Scarlett is written as a very strong woman, that's for sure. But a good role model? I don't think so. Her intentions are almost always completely selfish, and her methods are often immoral and sometimes illegal. NOT someone I would want to emulate, or want my daughters to emulate. I'd rather we just read about her or watch her in the movie, and learn from her actions.
