I like the slim quick commercials so I checked out their site and am a bit less enthusiastic because of their 7 day menu sample.
At 1400 - 1500 it's substantially more calories than I usually eat in a day (800 - 1100).
Would it still work if I don't follow their menu guidlines?

I've tried them all! They really don't work. They may give you a boost of energy, but they don't help you loose weight. The only way you are going to loose is to watch your diet and exercise.

I'm getting desperate.
I only lost 4 pounds in 10 weeks at weight watchers because the calorie amount is more than I normally eat..... my body thinks it's starving so it hangs onto every little bite.
You'd think the doctors whould do something to fix it

I tried the hoodia too....no good!
The only success I had is on weight watchers. Would it be better for you to go on the core plan rather than the points. That way you can eat the normal amount of calories that your body is use to, but you will be eating the right foods.
Also, remember that loosing weight is a very slow process. There are no quick fixes unfortunately.

You are eating way too little. No wonder your body is in starving mode. You should increase your calories and eat more healthy food, like more salads, fruits, and veggies. I have not tried Hoodia or Slim Quick (I have a husband who can lay down on the couch and still lose weight) and it might be good for getting over the plateau and giving you a boast, but I had trouble with two other products, one that got the side of my legs sore, and the other that made me very exhausted so that I could not do the normal walking around.
I would not use the products for long, and you have to eat healthy while you do it. It might be for giving yourself a quick start, but that is all.

I'm a vegetarian, so fruits and vegetables are all I eat - except the ocassional tofu meat replacement. I use no oils, no butter or margarine, no dressings.... my diet is bland
That's why my calories are so low.
To top it off, I had to stop working out because of the injury I sustained at the gym (I think I wrote about it on here - but can't remember for sure).
Now I have just my exercise bike and stepper that I can use but the pain and headaches are so sudden and huge that I don't dare do anything that might trigger them.
In the meantime, I don't eat any of the foods I love (cheese, bread), and count calories and ww points and keep gaining.....
My husband loses weight easily too grrrrrrrrr!
