Think you personal pics are safe on myLot?

Hi Stealthy,

I know this, and Ive got all my pics removed, but you know, you just think that people would not want to do that. I mean, I guess I think that way, cos of course I wouldnt do that. What good would it do me to take a pic of someone else? Its just crazy.

I didnt think you were critizing me, I have learned my lesson. Ive been using the internet for 8 yrs now, and never in my time here have I had this kind of problem.

Very true, lesson well learned here! I guess I was just being trusting of people to not mess with your personal things. Other than being a complete jerk, what good would it do someone? You know? I just see so many people on here with personal pix and now that this has happened to me, I wanted people to be aware that it IS possible.

It is abuse, and i am so glad that mylot took precautions right away,we are trustworthy people in a friendly atmosphere and you wouldnt expect something like that to ever happen to YOU, but it does.....its just plain MESSED UP!!! Pisses me off!!!

I dont think I deserve to be abused!!!! I know I can be a b!tch at times, but Im an overall nice person!! I can get along with anyone, granted they are respectful to me and those around me. I do stand up for my own.

Yes, Trans you hit the nail in the head when saying that it is an open forum, and that whatever we publish has the risk of being abused by others. I do not understand why some are so clueless to that face. No, it isn't right at all but it happens and we all know this.

Yeah, its pretty costly to put that copyright image thing, I cant think of what they call it...oh the watermark thing on your pix. So I just wont post that kind of thing anymore.

I wouldnt think to take anyones pic and wreck havoc with it, so I didnt think anyone else would either. I guess I was just too trusting to think that my personal photos would be left alone. You can follow me around myLot and stalk me all you want, but to take a pic and then stalk me too! Uncalled for.

Yeah no life what so ever, they have such a low self-esteem that they have to make others miserable. Well they say, misery loves company! Karma baby!!

I didn't mean you should have to copyright your own pictures. I meant myLot should protect you legally somehow. Also myLot could make it so that it's more difficult for people to save your picture. And if someone does use your picture myLot should track their IP address and ban them from ever making another account. myLot could also report this as it's illegal.

They do state that using photos on here that you do not have permission to is illegal and I do think that myLot could provide this site with precautions to avoid this.

Im sure they can track & block ISP's. Why they dont, I dont know.

Yes Im back...lol couldnt sleep.

I see many profiles that have pix of themselves and of their kids and other family members, so I thought I would bring it to peoples attention. Im NOT going to conform and kiss a**. If I dont agree with what you said, just like many on here, Im going to say what I feel. Im real, and true. I think my star rating says it all. Now Im not saying that all people with high ratings are fake, I just dont think they really say whats on their minds all the time, but I will. So if my opinion is going to get my pix hi-jacked then I will remove them, but I wont be quiet. I just would hate to see this happen to anyone else who feels up to speaking their minds.

Sorry a** who did this, could dish it out, but couldnt take it when someone else brought it. hehe

Im sure you wouldnt have any problems Laurika, but if you do make sure they are copy written or something before you do. I guess if I was more like you then I wouldnt have had this problem, but Im not, so Im dealing with it. lol

I upset someone who was dishing it out but not able to handle it when someone else dished it back to them. Your not like this. But just to be on the safe side, I wouldnt. You just never know what someone will do just because they are bored or whatever.

On your profile page, you can upload pictures of anything you would like. I had some pictures of me and bits of my life on my profile. I came across someone being really rude to some people on here for no reason at all, and shortly after I said something to them a new user signs up on myLot with a profile and one of my pictures off my profile. They stole my picture, then followed me around mylot commenting behind every comment I left on other discussions.

I had no idea that anyone could come along and download personal pictures on users profiles here. But I do now, and Im letting everyone know so this doesnt happen to anyone else.

Im not a complete idiot as some have assumed I am here. I just thougth that respect would be given to my personal photos. I guess you can call me dumb for being a bit trusting, I can accept that. I would never do this to anyone, no matter how upset they made me.

And thank you! I really woudnt like to see this happen to anyone else on here. No matter how upset I would get at someone. For no reason would I take something that belonged to someone else and visciously use it as "pay back".
