do you have the guts to ask

it happens to me a lot.
what will you do if you see someone in the street, say a high school friend or something like that .she started chatting with you and she totally remembers your name but you cant just figure out who she is. will you have the guts to ask for name or just keep pretending that you remember her?

I am terrible with names so I just keep talking as though I know the persons name. If confronted to name the person I will let them know that I remember the person but not the name. I have mat many people like me that cannot remember people names and so we just keep on talking. I do try to have the person put his/her name and address in my note book that I carry with me all of the time. Then I will write a reminder about the person as to where I met them or what they do for a living etc..
