is your child like to swallowed his chewing gum? i read it in the newspaper said that swallowed chewing gum typically passes through the digestive tract without harm and is eliminated at the same rate as other foods. but rare complications can occur. the medical literature contains several case report of people, mostly small children, who developed intestinal obstruction, intestinal pain, constipation and other symptoms because they had a habit of swallowing their gum.

Well my kids really don't chew gum but I remember being small and I use to do it all the time. Even as an adult now I still do it and I don't think its ever hurt me in anyways except ya maybe constipation a few times!lol Anyways who knows but to be safe then I wouldn't let them swallow their gum just in case they do end up getting complications.
