where were you the first time you heard a james taylor song.  

I don't think I've ever heard one of his songs... Or maybe I have, but I just didn't know who he was.

My mom loved James Taylor. I totally remember hearing him all the time I was growing up. Now that my mom is gone, I cry like a baby every time I hear "Fire and Rain". I just adore him. His son has a similar sound.

I actually found out about this amazing singer last year! I was listening to accuradio online, and his song amazed me! I never heard of him before. I was so glad I heard that song and I have been listening to everysingle track that he ever recorded since that day. He is reeally something!

the first time I heard JT was one Christmas when I was just a young chap. I think it was "Whenever I see Your Smiling Face". I must've been like 6 years old, and it was just heaven from the start. Such a sweet baritone. And he's from Boston too. Go SOX!

For me, the first time I heard a James Taylor song was when I was listening to an oldies radio station in my country when I was still in primary school. I didn't really take notice of it, but I guess I sort of commit it to memory because the radio announcer kept repeating his name after his songs. I think his songs are cool, easy-listening and good to sing along anytime, anywhere.

I had to smile a little when you mentioned the tape recorder...I wanted one sooo badly when I was a young teenager so I could record songs off my transistor radio. Somehow my poor Mom managed to scrape up the cash for one at Christmas and I spent hours recording all the hits. This was BEFORE cassettes !! :-)
James Taylor is a class act and a legend in his own time. Talented, humble and courageous, he battled back from drug addiction and depression. Saw him in Orlando around 1995 and he was as good as ever...definitely warms my heart when I hear his voice.
