I've been prescribed diet pills but I'm not sure how I feel about that.......
As a vegetarian eating less than 1,000 calories per day, we can't figure out why I'm gaining weight. All the tests are coming back normal and I've just gone for another one to check my thyroid AGAIN!
The doctor thinks it could be a rare condition that isn't showing up in the normal tests and wants to send me to endocrinologists for further tests.
I just want to get back to my normal weight and stop the stomach pains.
I have a prescription for Meridia and hopefully that will get me down to my regular weight while they continue to run tests.
If you've tried this drug in the past or are currently using it, I would appreciate hearing about your experience with it.

Lets hope its nothing serious, it could be thyroid. I know it my case the reason I am so disgustingly overweight is because of how I feel about myself and everyone else. Not good. I am a binge eater, and stress eater and I WISH I had a medical condition, so lets hope in your case its something simple that can be fixed easily then you will be on your way. Good luck to you.

Thanks mbs for the well wishes.
I guess I'm a stress eater and a stress starver. My reaction can trigger an extreme in either direction.

My thyroid is off a bit and I took Meridia for a while. I lost some weight, but it quit working after awhile or I just ate more. It is a good medication to lose weight on but you also have to work with it. Good luck with it.

I have two immediate family members who have had thyroid problems or have had the thyroid removed.
I'm not sure what their condition is or was... and to be quite honest, I didn't even know the thyroid was a body part. I thought it was a condition like "flu", "cold", "congestion" - I'm so stupid sometimes!
