Yes, that is very frustrating my friend. I've resigned myself to just clicking and waiting for countdown now. I very rarely read the ads but if something catches my eye that I think might be interesting, I click on the link before the timer goes down and open that ad in another window. Then, I can go back to it later and read it properly with no timer attached.

Yes i think that has happened to us all atleast one time :) I especially hate it when an ad that I click on freezes up my computer. I end up having to shut down all the windows I'm looking at and start all over again :(

I hardly ever sighn up to anything that ads have to offer. I say 100% of the time I sighn up to more PTC's and that's about it. I sometimes wonder why advertisers target us because the majority of us are broke lol

hi lakota. I only joined two PTR ads. And one of them happens like that. I click the link and the ad that pops up changes to another one. And before I know it, the ad that I was supposed to be paid for vanishes. And I end up with an ad that seems to be regarded by my computer as harmful, either as spyware or adware or whatever.

With regards if we are really going to be paid by clicking these ads, I just don't know. So far, for the one month I've been a member of those PTR sites, I've only earned a few cents.

I think the reason advertisers set it up that way is to get as many ads up in as short a time possible. It dos seem rather self-defeating but in the money driven world of economics that is just the way the game is played. Does it make sense to the rest of us...no! But then I have pretty well given up on trying to grasp the short term thinking in many areas of society...politics, economics, the environment.
Enough already I don't want to turn this into a rant!

Anyway thought I'd drop by as you always do! My thoughts are with you..

I used to do PTR but I've given up on it b/c of spyware-I suggest you run http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ & see what pops up-it takes along time but the results will amaze you.I found that my ptr's were putting spyware on my pc

Well my dear friend ya know how I click them I open as many as I can and just wait for the timer which i don't like but I guess they have to have them but I do get tired of the same old mails everyday

i have that happened to me one time and i was so annoyed because i first thought something was happening with my computer.i think thats wrong for that to happen but like you said they are most likely getting paid for doing that,well paid for annoying us you might as well say.pattie

I find when the frame sometimes closes, and in that case, I have to press the stop button. I find that works. I guess it has to be opened and not closed until the timer runs out, but sometimes you may be sitting all day, especially when they pay you less than one eighth of a cent and are still waiting for the timer to close. Also I use Firefox, and open several links in different programs, (well I used to.) There is another thing I do when I am reading on an inbox. I open using the right click in another tab, and that means I do not have to worry about it closing prematurely.
