i hope you heard his music for the movies GURU, and Rang De Basanti? They do prove it.
Though Sivaji was a big let down, I personally feel that HE was weighed down by the celeb status of rajani, and shanker, and could not balance the class act that he is, and the number of mass fans that rajani has.

His transition from a particular note to the other is so good and I think is better than Rahman's . Rahman sometimes is unable to maintain the continuity in a song while Raja can bring out the same beautifully like we see through his violin sections . | |
