John Deere  

This is a marketing strategy and it cost millions and millions of dollars to put together We are constantly bombarded with TV ,magazine,book etc etc advertising about JohnDeere and obviously it is working because they continue to inundate everywhere with this theme I have not seen the stats but i suspect they make millions in profits every year and that is the bottom line .As long as it is profitable this JohnDeere commercials will continue Thanks for sharing Good Luck

very much for the money it makes but then people are what they are and yup think it is like a sports team thing.
also it takes people here in the states back to the good old farm days when we were thriving with good family ranches and farms growing all our own food.

I have no idea why they do these things! I guess they are real big fans of the John Deere! There are some country songs that are devoted to John Deere, like this one song about John Deere Green. It's just a big symbol of the country life. Some people go overboard with it just like with anything else in life.

Be a man. For you that means to get dirty doing something productive, from begining to end. Not grand, it must be simplistic. Just a house or even a storage facility.

Well if it comes to peoples cars, houses and clothing, that's them. As long as it isn't something that detracts from the neighborhood it should be fine. I've seen people do team color and the houses aren't bad at all. Plus it is much better than (white-tan, white-beige, white-brick, white-white, etc). Color isn't that bad, especially if done properly on houses. Its the homeowner's choice. Maybe they have designs of it or its just an idea in their head. The house is theirs, let them paint it.

You know, the Green Bay Packers and the Oakland A's have that same color scheme. Coincidence???

I do think it is exactly like sports fans or people that like horses/pigs/dogs/cats/houses/lighthouses etc..
We tend to be excessive about the things we care about!

It is a fad and I can't wait for it all to go away. The colors are ugly and they stand out like a sore thumb. The products are expensive as all get out. I don't buy name brand products but buy products that have a good reputation with other people that I know. I'll never buy a name brand because it's popular in the way that John Deere is.

I have a nephew like that. For graduation he asked for a set of JD dinner plates - yeah. John Deere, especially the toys are collector items. Considering the craze to for collectables, JD took it another step up and mass produced all these other items because people will start collecting those things too.

To be honest JD, International, Ford, various tractor and/or farm equipment manufacturers have been producting things for years. An international toy that my husband played with is worth 5 times what it was purchases for. If the toys are still in the box? You could be sitting a small fortune.

I was in an Antquie store and found an old International Harvester calendar - a calendar, and it didn't even have the tear off pages for the months on it - and still I paid $50.00 for it. Took it home had it framed and gave it to my husband for his birthday. It was just an old calendar but because of the Int'l Harvester name it was worth that much more.

As far as planning your entire house around JD green. Some people are just that crazy about the make and model of their equipement. I have several customers that can't even have a civil conversation because one is a John Deere man and the other prefers International. Between some farmers is gets just as heated as what a religion discussion does in here.
