I have become addicted to watching Cesar Milan the dog whispere on TV! He sees mostly the bad behaviour in owners and corrects them to have these beautiful well behaved dogs again....and makes it all seem so simple. Does anyone else watch this show?

I'm sorry I don't get to watch that show, but then I have a cat & a fish so a dog show would not be of use to me... lol :D

My dad has an old dog that he found starving and lost. Now he is a fat little thing and strains at the lead when we are waiting to cross a road. He is strong and could easily break the lead when he does this.
Just as Cesar says, when I pulled back on the lead, it made him pull forward all the more. And he is deaf so he doesn't hear me telling him to wait.
I tried Cesar's trick of doing a quick jerk with the lead, not enough to hurt, just enough to get his attention, and little Jack stopped pulling immediately and looked up at me with those big brown eyes. I thought, Cesar is a genius.
