Kameee, Hameee Waaave!!! Dragonball into a live action movie!!!  

but Justin Chatwin is not that popular. I don't even know him until this morning. I was actually wishing he was Asian despite the name. LOL anyway, how about Shaolin Soccer? it was a hit eventhough the actors were all Asian. ijust can't accept the fact that Son Goku won't be a Japanese anymore! T.T

I'm sure my nieces and nephews will also love to watch this movie. they are all dragonball fanatics! they even watch reruns of dragonball over and over again.

well, the news says that Stephen Chow is a fan of Dragonball and he wanted Asian actors to be in the movie. I think Justin Chatwin was 20th Century Fox's choice and not Stephen Chow'S.

it would really depend on how the actor would portray the role he is playing. however, I think its only natural that a character will be played by someone who is from the place where that character originated. for example, spiderman is from the US so an American played the role. superman is from the US so an american played the role. so it goes that, wong fei hung was portrayed by a Chinese because the character is from China. I'm sure you get my point. ^__^;; my point is, it adds originality to the character if the actor playing it also came from its place of origin.

but then, I guess I'm just being idealistic as what roni said. and besides, no matter how much complaining I do, I can't do anything about it. ^__^;;

I see what you're saying on that though. I guess we can just wait and see how it turn out. Hopefully it will turn out rather well. I'm really wondering how would they be able to pull off the Super Saiyan look? I'm pretty sure we'll see that in the movie.

yeah. I hope the movie would turn out nice, in fact, it should turn out awesome because dragonball would need a lot of awesome special effects to attain the effect just like in the anime. ^__^

changing into super saiyan was my first thought actually. I'm thinking how they would do the super saiyan yellow aura thing.

Seems like you and I are thinking alike on this one. I guess CG would be the best bet for that effect but then again I don't know much about filming to tell you the honest truth. I agree we'll have to see on that one. I wonder if eventually they'd take it all the way to Super Saiyan 4 assuming they add the GT part as well in future installments if it goes well.

i don't have much idea about filming too and how they do the special effects. but judging from the special effects of Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, i bet Stephen Chow has a lot of special effects in his sleeves. ^__^

i guess this movie would only be about Piccolo 'saga'. if ever it will be successful, we'll see more sequels.

It must be from Dragonball then. If you compare Piccolo to what he was then compared to now as far as major villains, he wouldn't rank very high. I'm assuming this would be after King Piccolo and it's the one with the Piccolo everyone is familiar with right.

yep. he will be the Piccolo we all know. i also think he is the weakest enemy Son Goku has ever had.

Yeah he was compared to everyone else but the funniest part is that he actually had a hand in killing Radditz if you recall from the Saiyan Saga. I think that was at one point his claim to fame. I'm curious on how they'll pull this off. Hopefully it'll turn out good. Only way to find out is actually watch it.

it was really a twist when Piccolo became their ally. anyway, let's see how will it turn out. but that would still be far from now so we better hold on to our seats and criticize later. LOL

yup. this anime made it in the history. ^__^ no doubt it is one of the anime that we'll be remembered by all.

i think one of the reason is, they think the Asian market are smaller than the american and european market. dragonball is fairly popular too in the US so they are catering to the desires of the fans there.

anyway, let's wait and see and if we like it, altogether we'll "kameee hameee waaaavvee! LOL

honestly, i got tired of Dragonball too because the local station kept airing the same seasons over and over again. and my nieces and nephew would watch it over and over again! i don't want to watch it so i avoid looking at the tv when they are watching. but if i can't help and look at the tv, i tend to watch it too. LOL

well, we can't say about what chatwin knows and what he doesn't know. but we can say that he totally doesn't look like an Asian! ^.^ i hope it will really be fantastic.

as long as the special effects are just like in the anime then it will be fine for me. ^__^ but i have doubts too. and excuse me to all, but i don't really like non-Asian people portraying Asian characters or whatever Asian. it always look trying hard for me. ^__^;; oh don't condemn me for this!

justin chatwin. i was like, "who the heck is that?" because i don't know him also. so i researched him on the internet and saw pictures of him and i thought he was familiar. but i don't really know him that much. anyway, let's hope he is a dragonball fan and let's wish he'll portray the Goku role superbly! or else i am going to "kame hame wave!!" him. LOL

even if im not japanese i'll be hurt if the movie will turn out bad. i'm an anime fan after all. ^__^
